Pastor Clark and Pastor Tim believe that God uses the preaching of His Word to call His people to repentance, renewal and rejoicing. We believe the Scriptures are essential to the life of Living Hope so expository preaching has a central place in our corporate worship. The authority of preaching is found in authoritative Word of God. We believe that God uses the systematic preaching through various books of the Bible to establish and extend His authority. Our pastors strive by God’s grace to prepare their sermons prayerfully and diligently seeking to bring the grammatical historical truths of the texts to the attention of the listeners in a practical, relevant way. The sermons are posted here to be used as appropriate: catch a sermon that was missed, as a mid-week review, or to pass along to others in order to encourage them. May God richly bless His Word to the heart of the hearer!

Work out Your Own Salvation ~ Philippians 2:12-18Clark H. Brooking,
2013 October 13
Part of the Philippians series.
As Paul brings his appeal for selfless service to a close, he does so in striking terms. What can the apostle of grace alone through faith alone mean by, "work out your own salvation"?
12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. 17Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. 18For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.
